COVID-19 PANDEMIC

During these difficult days of Covid-19 pandemic, the Our Lady of Armenia Center, with the assistance of SOAR (The Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief), the Armenian Caritas, UMAF, Gyumri Rotary Club, Hilton Fund, Famiglia Insieme and private benefactor Anna Kazanjian, the Sisters were able to provide regular food packages, medicine, hygiene and health supplies, clothes, shoes and other necessary materials to the families of its students, the beneficiaries of the Nadine Basmadjian Day-Care Center for the Elderly and Gyumri’s extremely needy families (about 250). On March 8, the students of the Center surprised the members of Nadine Basmadjian Day-Care Center for the Elderly with songs and dances, as well as humorous anecdotes of Gyumri.

St. Vardanants Day

On February 21, the Centre celebrated St. Vardanants Day, dedicated to the memory of General Vardan and his 1036 soldiers, who died in the Battle of Avarayr on May 26, 451. The event began with the speech of General Vardan, followed by literary and musical pieces prepared by the students of the Center.

The Last Bell

Our Lady of Armenia Center celebrated the Last Bell of 4 graduates. The Sisters cordially wish them strength and energy, to overcome any difficulties and obstacles in their life, and may they find their paths to success.

The Native Language’s Day

On February 23, 2018, the “Native Language Day” cultural event took place at the Theatre Hall of the Diramayr Vocational School, at the initiative of Father Mashdots Zahterian and in collaboration with “The Our Lady of Armenia Center”. The main idea of the event was to preserve our national heritage treasure, the Armenian language, which has characterized our identity, and spiritual and literary heritage.
